Sea Glass

moments from the mat, in front of the sea

A collection of thoughts from that in-between space between sand and waves and ocean sky.

…………………………………

Flapping noise and commotion

as they lift in controlled chaos.

Sudden quiet, their gliding seems effortless.

They watch me from the swell.

Grounded, I’m drowning in effort

and voices pinning me to gravity.

Dis-ease smothering my yearning.

I discover the voices are my own.

The breeze ruffles and I lean in.

My claws clenching soil and known

Heart throat eyes straining up and seeking oh to fly away!

My rib cage painful from the stretch.

My breast swells and opens, reaching,

bones cracking, searing air releasing.

Burdens slipping, crashing on impact.

The ease is sudden.

From this perspective I see

the safety of the ground was delusional.

It no longer matters. In the wind

I’m carried, not away, with.

…………………………………

Tell me your despair

and I will halve it.

Again.

Again.

And on and on.

Suddenly, the possible.

………………………………

Do better

Do more

Make more

Be more

Extra credit

Stop. Enough.

Right here right now.

It’s always been enough.

A circle of 10

5 women 5 men 2 dogs.

2 writers 5 readers 3 artists 2 sailors 1 intellectual 1 wise 2 fit 3 shy 2 driven,

all seeking.

Heal thyself heal yourself heal selves.

Ripples of acceptance all selves no selves.

Grounded here, masks discarded

whole moments at a time.

Feet connected to earth,

hearts connected facing in.

Where does the truth lie?

Who am I?

Show me your truth

I will share my selves.

…………………………………

The hunched shoulders, the quivering ears, the wary eyes.

Invite her in,

Feed the hungry soul,

Love him with abandon.

Ah, there you are.

I recognize you now.

Welcome home, you wild pup.

…………………………………

Take what I have,

I’m offering. So desperate for connection

I share dangerously.

Heart speaks to heart

please be gentle.

I’m willing if.

………………………………

I didn’t see the tear in the muscle of the leg

of the heart of the friend of the eye

until I saw the reflection.

one step more

is one step back.

Noone warned me that healing is lonely.
